"The study of geometry is a meditation on

the harmony of cosmic order"

With no figurative imagery allowed, geometry flourished in Islamic art with beauty embodying a divine quality that transcends worldly images. Often described as having a spiritual quality it allows one to reflect on life and the greatness of creation; evidenced by a single element of each pattern summating the infinite total with remarkable coherence. Geometry is thus heralded as an artistic language of the universe.
